Kozlowski & Thomas Announce Strong Fundraising Start to 2018
Jefferson- Ashtabula County Commissioner Casey Kozlowski and Austinburg Fiscal Officer and Candidate for County Auditor David Thomas announce a strong start to the 2018 campaign season with the filing of their 2017 Annual Campaign Finance Reports. Filings report that Kozlowski and Thomas greatly out fundraised their general election opponents with Kozlowski having a 14-1 cash on hand advantage and Thomas a 5-1 advantage including in kind donations heading into 2018.
Commissioner Casey Kozlowski raised $22,141 including in kind donations with $19,648 on hand to begin 2018. “I am thankful for the support many in our County have shown in my first term as your County Commissioner”, shared Kozlowski. “We have been able to achieve much over these past few years and with this strong financial support so early in the campaign, I am excited for the future opportunities we can accomplish together.”
Kozlowski touts his experience both as a school board member and state legislator prior to becoming an Ashtabula County Commissioner in 2014 as his foundation for serving the community’s residents.
Kozlowski has been instrumental in moving several projects forward in Ashtabula County, which include: the new Ashtabula County 911 Dispatch Center, work on the county’s jail needs assessment and update of the community corrections plan, efforts to provide more transparency in county government, along with work to meet drug treatment and mental health service needs in our county.
Austinburg Fiscal Officer David Thomas raised $8,101 including in kind donations with $8,281 currently on hand. “As a first time County wide candidate I have been blown away by the generosity and support our residents have shown me”, Thomas explained. “Folks are excited for new energy and ideas at the county level focused on helping growth in Ashtabula.”
Thomas is the youngest elected official in Ashtabula County at 24, however he points to his experience handling Austinburg’s finances, graduate level education in business administration, and community involvements in over six organizations to give him the experience needed to lead the Auditor’s office.
