As we prepare to take office March 11th, I am pleased to continue introducing you to the incoming Managers! We have been greatly assisted by the current Auditor and his staff which has allowed for a smooth transition and us to be ready on March 11th. Sue Belden will serve as the incoming Office Manager. Her duties will include tax settlements, dog licenses, business and cigarette licenses, HR for a staff of 24, payroll, purchasing, and many other personnel responsibilities. As we prepare to take office March 11th, I am pleased to continue introducing you to the incoming Managers! As I have mentioned often, I am very appreciative for the smooth transition into office these past few months have been. Jamie Ortiz will be the incoming Fiscal Manager. Her duties will include overseeing the financial division of the office pertaining to payroll for all county employees, State Audit compliance, Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) preparation, and other monetary responsibilities. As we prepare to take office March 11th, I am pleased to begin introducing you to the incoming Managers! I also would like to take the opportunity to thank the current Auditor and his staff for a transition that has been extremely helpful and informative. Dennis Huey will be our Real Estate Manager overseeing the office's Real Estate Division and all conveyance/valuation/and other real estate matters. Dennis is a 1977 Graduate of Kent State with an Associate Degree in Finance. He has been in the appraisal profession since 1976 and is a Licensed Residential Appraiser with the State of Ohio. Oath of Office Ceremony March 4th!

You are cordially invited to join Ashtabula County Auditor-Elect David Thomas in his Oath of Office Ceremony Monday, March 4th at 5pm at the Commissioners' Meeting Room in the Old Courthouse in Jefferson! County Commissioner Casey Kozlowski will serve as emcee of the evening joined by Judge Harold Specht who will give the invocation and Judge David Schroeder performing the Oath of Office. Protect Against LEBOR- Agriculture Districts Call to Action!

Ashtabula County Auditor-elect David Thomas urges farmers and Agriculture professionals in Ashtabula County to investigate the Lake Erie Bill of Rights (LEBOR) special referendum in Toledo which could have disastrous effects on Ag in Northern Ohio and take action. If it passes, "the measure would give Lake Erie and its watershed legal standing in court and allow any Toledo citizen to represent the lake and file lawsuits on its behalf." (Ohio Farm Bureau) The LEBOR would allow any Toledo resident the ability to file a lawsuit against a business, government, or farm which the resident believes has caused harm to the quality of Lake Erie.
